Schlosshof, Schloss Maienfeld

The courtyard of Maienfeld Castle was enhanced and reorganised as part of a comprehensive redesign. At the same time, the castle was connected to the district heating network. The aim of the project was to improve the quality of the space through additional greenery and to make the courtyard versatile and suitable for weddings, events and everyday use.

A striking design feature is a large oak tree, approximately seven metres tall. New green structures in the form of yew waves create a clear spatial layout and lend the courtyard a timeless elegance. In addition, a new outdoor area was created for the bistro, further expanding the range of possible uses.

The different areas of the courtyard were accentuated through a new lighting concept and equipped with a modern irrigation system. Working within the historic fabric presented particular challenges in terms of planning and execution, requiring a high degree of care and precision.
